Everything used eventually has an end to its life. As part of end-to-end asset management life cycle, it is important Cimpl be kept up to date with current hardware, software, accessories.
There are 2 things to do in Cimpl when a hardware has reached its end-of-life:
- Decommission the hardware from the Catalog so that it can no longer be ordered.
- Create the hardware entry in your Catalog.
Note: This does NOT remove the models from your inventory or warehouse but prevents the model from being ordered through Self-Service or assigned from your inventory.
Set an existing hardware as "end-of-life":
- Go to Configuration tab > Administration > Catalog Management.
- Find the hardware name of the item that is no longer available using the search.
- Select the items to be removed from your Catalog.
- Click on one of the models and set the End of life date to today's date.
- Click on Apply to save your changes.
- Do this for all instances of the phone model in your Catalog.
